Sophia Bakogianni is a museum curator at the Byzantine and Christian Museum in Athens, and holds a PhD in Social Information Systems from the Open University of Cyprus. Her proposed paper to the MW23 conference is part of her PhD dissertation.
Her PhD research concerns people’s perceptions, preferences, feelings and practices through their interaction with museums on social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Particularly, she is interested in user-centered methods in order to comprehend user agency on museum social media accounts, beyond the metrics and analytics offered by the platforms.
